VOLUME 09 - SUPERCORDAS

"Elementary particles with identity crisis, the naked horizon reflected in the frog's eye, echoes of '67 psychedelia absorbed by seventeenth century sugar kane leaves, cryogenic machines developed by mad alchemists. Those are a few things Supercordas are about."

That's how the band define themselves. And, once again, this encounter between Pocketmusic and Supercordas was because of the great taste and constant incentive of Fernanda Takai.

They are an independent band that's been calling more and more attention from the audience and critic, with a expansive work on the internet, Supercordas is getting recognized by their talent on their new cd "Seres Verdes ao Redor: Música para Samambaias, Animais Rastajantes e Anfíbios Marcianos" (2006). (Green Beings Around: Music for Ferns, Crawling Animals and Martian Anphibious)

SIDE A - NÃO SEI SE VOU CAÇAR RÃ
(i don't know if i'm goona hunt a frog)
august 2007 - são paulo (sp) - on the stairs

And it was around this "crawling animals" that the band wanted to shoot their videos. The side A "Não sei se posso ir caçar rã" (Supercordas) is a never heard before track, that, althogh they play it on shows, it's not on the current album and, according to the band, probably, will not be on the next one.

SIDE B - FROG ROCK
august 2007 - são paulo (sp) - on the snake room

"Frog Rock" (Supercordas), the side B, has the most legimate anphibian atmosphere and putting a sleep snake together, it represents the good humor and creative sound that makes Supercordas a band so special for us. This sounds like a contry folk rock with the fresh and youth of our new generation of brazilian music.

VOLUME 08 - DADI

Dadi can be found everywhere in the history of the brazilian music. He was a member of the famous band Novos Baianos, he played in the legendary album "África Brasil" (1976) of Jorge Ben, he was a member of the band A Cor do Som, was a muse for Caetano Veloso's "Leãozinho", is the forth member of Tribalistas and, tireless, he just released his first solo album. And to complete, he has the same face and energy of a 20 year old boy.

As you get to know him is easy to understand why and how Dadi was everywhere at the same time with a lot of different talented people. He is extremely nice and his enthusiasm and good humor are contagious and his musicality totally natural.

SIDE A - SE ASSIM QUISER
(if you want so)
august 2007 - são paulo (sp) - on the roof

We've met him in the hotel where he was staying, where Dadi himself organized the day of shooting. Alongside with the bodyguard of the hotel, we went up to the roof of the building, which gave us a panoramic view of the city. Upthere, Dadi played his side A, "Se assim quiser" (Dadi/Arnaldo Antunes). This song was already recorded by Arnaldo in his cd "Saiba" (2004), but here is a sweeter version of the song that talks about the freedom of the freetime you have to spent your salary.

SIDE B - DOIS PERDIDOS
(two losts)
august 2007 - são paulo (sp) - on the sofa

Some floors down, in the pool, Dadi played "Dois perdidos" (Dadi/Arnaldo Antunes), his side B. This song, was also previously recorded by Arnaldo on his most recent record "Qualquer" (2006). And, here, one more time, Dadi gave his discreet and captivating personality to this song, that talks about two people lost in the same relashionship.

VOLUME 07 - MARIANA AYDAR

Before the release of the cd "Kavita 1" (2006), her debut album, and became critic and public acclaimed, Mariana Aydar had already colaborated in a project of one of the components of pockemusic.

Mariana is always trying to reinvent herself, so, she opens her arms to partnerships and influences from artists of her generation or others, from Brazil to abroad.

SIDE A - UN, DEUX, TROIS
(one, two, three)
july 2007 - são paulo (sp) - in the garden

She quickly asked Duani to colaborate with her on the side A "Un, deux, trois" (Camille), a beautiful french song of the singer Camille. Mario Manga, Mariana's father, was also there to support her with the beautiful sound of the cello. This "threesome" in this song was already made in a live concert and here, it could be register in Mariana's backyard.

SIDE B - NA GANGORRA
(in the seesaw)
july 2007 - são paulo (sp) - on the swing

As a side B, we went to playcenter, which is an amusement park, and we made a espontaneous and fun video. Mariana and Duani sang playing and played singing "Na gangorra" (Giana Viscardi/Michael Ruzitschka), it reflects the creative freedom and pure fun for which, sometimes, the music exists.

VOLUME 06 - ÉRIKA MACHADO

Érika Machado is a singer/composer from Belo Horizonte, MG. The essencial thing to be said here is that we didn’t know much about Érika and we’ve never talked to her before, but, in less than 24 hours, between a telephone call from SP to BH, trying to explain about the project, and our meeting in a restaurant in BH, a great relashionship between her music and pocket music was sealed.

She was interested in the project, so, simply, she accepted it. Until now, it is a record in pocket music, less than 24 hours between the invitation and the day of shooting. Her participation here was a happy meeting that, although promoted by Pato Fu, it was meant to be. She came shy and quiet to us with her guitar on her back. Her delicate and captivating personality is responsible for the mood in her songs that sounds like a irresistible ordinary life cronics.

SIDE A - SECADOR, MAÇÃ E LENTE
(blowdryer, apple and lens)
june 2007 - belo horizonte (mg) - in the duck

“Secador, maçã e lente” (Érika Machado/ Juliana Mafra), the side A, was made in a carnival, inside a green swimmer duck. It’s a track from her first CD “No cimento” (2006) produced by John Ulhoa. It talks about a boy that is happy living a life that's far from complete.

SIDE B - ROBERTINHA
(little roberta)
june 2007 - belo horizonte (mg) - in the square

As a side B, she gave us the incredibly catchy “Robertinha” (Érika Machado). It talks about a girl called Robertinha that want to buy the world and it’s never satisfied. Warning: We, from pocket music, are 3 months singing this tune. So, you must be careful, it may seem just 1 minute short and harmeless, but it’s addictive!
